A presentation of the UrbanElevate project on sustainable urban mobility was held at Zhytomyr Polytechnic University
On February 27, a kick-off event for the UrbanElevate project was held at Zhytomyr Polytechnic State University. The project is an initiative aimed at improving entrepreneurial and innovative skills in the field of urban mobility in Zhytomyr and the Zhytomyr region. The project supports the active involvement of young people, researchers, students, business representatives, and local government bodies through training, mentoring programs, youth entrepreneurship programs, and the development of partnerships with European initiatives.

- Iryna Kovalchuk – Head of the Department for Family, Youth, and Sports of the Zhytomyr City Council, co-coordinator of the Space for Girls and Women “Vilna”
- Tetiana Myanovska – Head of the Educational and Methodological Center of the Zhytomyr City Department of Education
- Borys Pakholyuk – Director of the City Development Agency
- Representatives of 15 general secondary education institutions in Zhytomyr
Participants were presented with educational opportunities within the UrbanElevate project, as well as opportunities for innovators from the Vacuum Deep Tech Acceleration project partners. The event brought together representatives of education, business, the public sector, and innovative communities, creating a solid foundation for further cooperation and the development of urban initiatives.
As part of the UrbanElevate project, Zhytomyr will host, among other things, two innovative educational programs for secondary pupils aged 12-17. The programs are aimed at developing entrepreneurial thinking and skills among young people in the field of urban mobility.
- The first training program will be implemented in synergy with the European initiative Girls Go Circular.
- The second program is a one-day quest to assess the opportunities for inclusiveness in the city of Zhytomyr and develop practical recommendations for its improvement.
Fifteen schools in Zhytomyr have already joined this initiative and signed memorandums of cooperation within the project.
UrbanElevate is an opportunity for young people, businesses, and the community of Zhytomyr to implement changes, create innovations, and make the city more comfortable!
